Really enjoying listening to "Rubber Factory"
Not sure why there doesn't seem to be very many fans of this band amongst the forum regulars.

They write nearly unique songs I think, I can't really compare another modern band to them. They almost sound retro.
Haven't listened to Magic Potion much, sure I will before much longer.

It's a great album.
I completely agree with you that The Black Keys have a sound that's unique to them. Unfortunately, every two piece in alternative music today is compared to The White Stripes at one point or another. I've never understood why the number of members in a band should warrant a comparison, unless The Polyphonic Spree is involved. |

The White Stripes came first, but The Black Keys brought it to a new level.
Magic Potion is considered an "average album" by TBK standard. I own and enjoy them all, and I'd agree it is average overall- but it does have a couple of my favorite songs: "Your Touch" (slide guitar gives me chills) and "You're The One". The debate is usually between "Rubber Factory" and "Thickfreakness" for best album. I started with RF, but now look at T more highly. Most listened is "Chulahoma". Not really sure where I was going with this. Call it, friendo. I don't want to call it. You must call it... Oh yeah, I remember- If you don't own Chulahoma or Thickfreakness, look into getting them.

Love em, they're so gritty and awesome.

"Just Got To Be" is one of my favourite songs to play on guitar. I use to be a lot more into these guys, but just kind of... stopped listening for some reason. However I gotta say I really like their sound.
