Default You Make Me Feel Like I Need a Psychiatric Evaluation

...A Wilhelm Scream! So my brother just gave me a bunch of his old CDs/Ones he thought i'd like and in them he gave me all 3 albums (ruiner, mute print,Benefits of thinking out load) and they're possibly my favorite band ever.

Recommendations

Brand New Me, Same Shitty You
Mute Print
Dreaming Of Throwing Up
Me Vs. Morrissey In The Pretentiousness Contest (The Ladder Match)
Less Bright Eyes More Deicide
Cancer Dream

*Digs*

I was SO Psyced that I was going to see them play in Rochester with Steetlight Manifesto on the 31st of Jan, oh God, you know you have problems when finding out the night before your plans for the 6 hour drive north are being crushed because your friends mom changed her mind and your friend was your ride...and you cry for hours straight. Something I don't like to admit because I feel silly but I was so excited...really, I was.

AWS had been my favorite band for months, as well as SLM...and they STILL lead my likes. I used to listen to NOTHING but these two bands at the beginning of the school year. I saw streetlight on Oct 8th, and said numerous times that my "dream show" would be them playing together which I admited was highly unlikely because of their difference in styles. Should have foreseen that it wasn't THAT unlikely - The Swellers opened for SLM at Starland on Oct 8th, and they're highly influenced by AWS. But anyway - upon hearing that they WERE touring together, I "Had to go." and proceded to plan an expensive and lengthy trip to Rochester from NYC that my mom actually wasn't fully against. Too bad my friend who was going to drive...actually both of them...bailed the day before. I could have went with some other friends but it was mightnight the day before when I found out I wasn't going, and they were leaving at 5 from manhattan. . .Worse of all was that I got the OK at 11, bought the ticket, then less than 30 minutes later my anticipation was shattered into disappointment...

Lengthy story, I know. . .I even IM-ed my ex like "Guess what happened." I just had to have someone feel my pain!

Anyway...This is an amazing band, and I wish I could have seen their show. Perhaps someday in the future, no doubt I will.

Just wanted to bump this thread up.

I've been listening to AWS a lot again lately. Their talent far exceeds their popularity, looks like no one has really been giving them the light of day since "Mute Print" (2nd album they released). Since then there have been two amazing additions to their resume, "Runier" and "Career Suicide". If you have the time to explore something new in the punk genre give these two CDs a shot!!!!!!!!
