As far as this last point goes I do have some albums from the 70s from some Scientologists, I think it might be a Chick Corea vinyl that actually has a blurb about the 'Church of Scientology' on the back. I don't ever recall any mention of the CoS on any Beck disc so I'm thinking he kept his personal and professional sides separate.

This however...

However, when you picture him writing that after being baptized, and believing he can ascend to heaven with his devotion it absolutely loses it's value to me. I'm admittedly prejudiced in that respect.

If you want to limit yourself based on your perceptions of the private lives and beliefs of others that's very much your own prerogative but do recognize you're being a bit more than just ignorant with your stance.

.
Christianity is very loose. If Beck was a member of a Christian cult, it would be a better comparison.

I've been baptized, doesn't mean I follow anything from the Bible.
Scientology isn't like that, your either a following member, being e-readed and taking courses to further your psychokinetic abilities or your out.

Christianity also allows for it's doctrine to be read and interpreted by the public, while Scientology is very closed off and info is only available to higher ranking members, who have spent a lot of money to get that position.

Again, Scientology is not comparable to established religions.

Ok. I recognize it. I absolutely will continue to judge others on their beliefs, as well as their private lives if it involves something as astounding as being part of a crazy cult.
