It just sounds bad. Simple as that.

I've been getting into Beck quite a bit in the last little bit. Of the albums of his that i've listened to enough to really rank, i'd say that Midnite Vultures is my favourite, with Odelay close behind.

Also, I really don't see why people had such a "meh" reaction to Modern Guilt. It's a bit of a grower, but it's a gorgeous album.

I have to agree about Modern Guilt. I was underwhelmed by it at first, but it grew on me rather quickly. I hold it in high regard now. Chemtrails is one of my favorite Beck tunes now ... love the drumming. But there is nothing bad about Modern Guilt. It is what it is, and it is very good.

Chemtrails took a couple of listens to really grab me, but I love it now. What really sold me was the end, with the surge of instruments fading out and back in again.

I've listened to Mellow Gold, Midnite Vultures, and Odelay. I love all three, but this is how I'd rank them:

1) Mellow Gold
2) Midnite Vultures
3) Odelay

Where should I go from here?
