Concrete Blonde is amazing. Their albums vary from the energy of punk rock (poisonous garden) to latin (Mexican moon). That's why I love them. No matter which album (except Walking in London), there is always a nice variety of songs. Ans yes, Johnette Napolitano has the best voice I have ever heard.

I'm really surprised they never hit mainstream outside of Joey being briefly popular.
It's amazing to hear their progression. Their earlier stuff is really punk and 80's pop mixture into the jangly REM style stuff and even Latin. And yes that voice...it makes the band. Live in Brazil is one of my favorite albums because of the amazing vocal performance. And they covered Leonard Cohen so a plus. I love his lyrics, but can't stand his performance, so anytime a good singer does one of his songs I like it.

"Bloodletting" is a fantastic song of theirs, I play that at times @ various Goth clubs when I spin.
