Ignoring any differences in attitude. Metal is like punk played by good musicians. (generally). "No means no" be a notable exception to the punk bands can't play rule.

That being said it is down to the song. Good song is a good song regardless of style.

I'd usually say punk, but the watered-down crap that passes for punk these days disgusts me.

Like, I'm reading an article on Fallout Boy in some mag, and it's saying their the 'saviours of punk' or something like that.

That annoys the hell outta me, so ROCK is my choice here.

I read an article in guitar world? I think anyway it was like The Shape Of Punk To Come (refused ripoff >.>), and it was all about the new afi album and angels and airwaves and all that crap. It was pretty gross.
