Not diggin the list. Some great drummers in there technically, some drummers in there that are great stylistically.. The person that initiated this post should have made some clarification as to what he meant by "Best Drummer".
Realistically the "Best Drummer" should mean who is technically the best drummer.. and if you get two drummers who are equal technically then who's style is better which I guess leads to a personal choice question right??
I think Aaron Gillespie from Underoath is one of the best drummers out there right now both technically and stylistically.

Nobody's mentioned Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa, Fantomas) or Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson). I think we should all take a moment of silence to ask ourselves why?

Gavin Harrison is the best drummer that i have seen live, he is incredable. the Colour Haze drummer Manfred Mehwald is also supurb he makes playing look effortless

Neil Peart mastered his little trick of throwing one of the drumsticks about 20-30 feet in the air while his octagonal platform rotates and pretty much never drops it. I'm not saying that seals the deal on him being the best, but he's simply awesome to watch live.

I guess that's one thing alot of drummers can't claim to be... entertaining to watch..... they generally sit up the back, pound out their thing, and play a big part of the band's sound.... but as far as interesting antics, they generally stay low key...

True. a band with an entertaining drummer makes them that much better. Neil Pert was entertaining, Motley Crues drummer Tommy Lee did that whole drummer in a rotating cage thing which was pretty bad ass. Underoaths drummer Aaron Gilespie is really fun to watch. He sings whle playing drums, but the guy pounds those drums harder than anyone I've ever seen. very entertaining.

I voted for Danny Carey - for me, it's not even close.
