Simple and tasteful can be SO much better than full on overkill, fills here there and everywhere, fast double bass drumming.... its all about rhythmic needs of the song in question...

It's nonconformist too which makes the Punk venues wanna let me play.

Yup. No guitar, no bass, and me screaming for half an hour to an hour, wailing on that high hat and percussion. They love it.

You know, I was thinking about adding that in the act. I'm also thinking about paying an untrained homeless man to play the organ for me.

Since this all just happens in the recesses of my mind, I will have to give that a try. You want the first copy when it's finished?

I dont really take these 'best drummers of all time' lists really all that seriously as to me it is just somebodys opinion just like mines or anybody else's ; just because they write for a magazine doesnt mean they have the godlike say in 'whos the best', I really dont care whos the best I listen to music that I like and that moves me and dont really give two ****s about what people think. In no particular order my favourite drummers are
John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) Steve White (Paul Welller) Jack Irons (Early RedHotchiliPeppers/Pearl Jam/Solo) (he also played on the Neil Young/Pearl Jam collabaration album 'Mirrorball' on which I think the drumming is nothing short of fantastic') To be honest I aint really that big on drummers although there are a few who really stick out to me anyway. |
