I've seen Tool a couple times but not since Lateralus tour and I hadn't heard about the triggers so I didn't know what to look for but Tool is so awesome live I wouldn't care. Carey is from Kansas like me so maybe I change my vote to him. I guess no one bit on Lars Ulrich then.

I went back about 10 pages and saw no one mention Carl Palmer. You all fail.

George Kollias from Nile is the best there is and ever was. Dave Lombardo is a very close 2nd. Ian Paice, Deep Purple 3rd. I'll take Keith Moon as number four, but everyone else is a Model - T.

Meh, he's not that great. He's got a ok feel, but he lacks technical skill.

Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa! I've never been able to choose between them. All others owe homage! LOL IMO

EDIT: I did forget one of my favorites, Neil Smith.

Lars Ulrich is definatly not the king of metal drumming. I would put a number of drummers ahead of him: Dave Lombardo, Brann Dailor, Danny Carey, Nicko McBrain, Dave Witte, Fenriz, Vinne-Paul Abbott...
