You dont like a band because of the drummer?

Hm, actually my main turn off besides the music is some fans thinking they're listening to good prog-metal (when they probably don't even know what prog is), and that critics hail them for no good reason. I think I've already ranted on about why I dislike Tool somewhere else.

Oh and you do?

Its stupid to hate a band simply for their drummer and their fans and critics...Thats almost on par with hating a band because a band member is screwing a supermodel whos personality you dont care for.

I recall saying "besides the music."

And yes, I'm pretty sure I have a grasp on what good prog is; and it's not Tool.

Some may call me a 'tard but I have to admit that I don't like a lot of the bands mentioned. I'm not much of a medal head anymore. So I have to say I haven't heard a whole lot of them. Of the bands I listen to (or used to anyway) I think Dave Grohl is amazing. The dude from Tool is very very good too. Of course, Peart has to be mentioned in there.

And I didn't see his name and you guys will probably lauch at me but I'm used to it so what the hey. I think Alex Van Halen is very underrated. Nobody really pays attention to him b/c of Eddie but in concert, Alex kicks some major arse!

What about Mike Bordin from Faith No More? Not in anyone's top 10 but pretty darn good...even though the band is really, let just say, odd.
