Why, as I think I stated once... Danny Carey is a great drummer. I am not a Tool fanatic by any means, but I admit he is talented. Listen to "Ticks and Leeches" for example, or the "10,000 Days" album.. some great drumming on that.
He deserves his spot on here. I may not vote for him, but i think he can hold his own amongst the other choices.

Ticks and Leeches is on Lateralus.
10,000 Days was good and all, but it didn't live up to Lateralus in my book. Lateralus is a piece of art. Perfect as I rate it. Looking up a little farther, I must add that I agree that Danny Carey is a Top 10 contender, Top 3 if we're not doing jazz/fusion drummers. And one farther up, "Bonham Bruford Mitchel Paice Peart" ... MitcheLL. Mitch Mitchell |

I know it was on "Lateralus". I was saying listen to that song and the "10,000 Days" album. Some great drumming on that one.
I do not really care about what it did or did not live up to, as a body of work in itself it is a great album. Each one has been great in it's own way.

Misread "or" for "on" ... my bad.
I would recommend listening to the Lateralus album, or Wings For Marie/10,000 Days, the song(s). Great album or not, I feel that Lateralus was them on their A game and 10,000 Days was A- material. I feel Danny and the rest a lot more on tracks like Lateralus, The Grudge, Parabola, etc. Also, Quote:
Here's the bit that I love :37 seconds, he checks to see his mallet is still sitting there, :44 seconds, he tucks his right hand stick under his left armpit, grabs the mallet, and smacks the gong behind him, while he keeps the beat and :45 seconds, he's back... That's just the cherry on top for me. I love his timing. |

Hard decision...lol Bonham was the man back in the day, i would have loved to seen what he could have brought to the table in a longer life, now danny is amazing, but peart gets my vote hands down, he's an alien, and his kit looks like his ship/lol
