What's your point? That's why they were considered the same style of music. There were a bunch of bands with similar sounds at the time because they shared similar influences, it's just a case of being a product of their time. It's not like any particular band invented grunge out of thin air.

Just curious as to what their early songs sound like. I bet they're a lot different.

They probably are. That's true of earlier stuff by the people from most grunge bands. Or most bands in general really.
