American Metal vs European Metal
So which is better, in y opinion european metal has always been better and still is.
|
I agree. More technical, original, and interesting.
although bands like Byzantine and With Passion are giving them a run for their money. |
Eoropean Metal seems more original than American Metal IMO.
|
I like American Metal for Thrash Metal. But thats about it.

British!#!@$@#$

Couldn't decide.
On one hand you've got european metal... Maiden, Children of Bodom, Sabbath, In Flames, Arch Enemy.. And the list goes on and on and on... But then there's American Metal... Pantera, Machine Head, Slayer, Superjoint Ritual, Metallica, Megadeth etc. |
American Metal has Megadeth, so because of my extream bias against Dave Mustaine and all his associates, i will go with European Metal, even though Children of Bodom and many modern european metal bands suck some serious ass, Maiden and Sabbath alone are worth my vote, most american metal bands that are selling records nowadays are **** too...Fates Warning, Symphony X, Queensryche, now those are american metal bands that are actualy worth the hype...and Opeth and Nightwish are good european metal acts.

i'd have to go for european metal, to me it just has more variation and melody and seems to give you all that you want to find in metal. but you cant deny that american is also awesome, bands like pantera, slayer and metallica kinda speak for themselves.
|
I love both, there is no denying the talents of bands like Pantera, Metallica, Megadeth, Chimeria etc etc. But unfortunutly American metal has a tendancy (in my opinion!!) to go a bit too melodic, which is fine, but I prefer my metal to be long, hard and heavy as ****...Having said that Usurper and Lamb of God are exeptions to that rule. I agree with Kempson, Children of Bodom are very talented, but listen to Decapitated, especially their early stuff. Their first album was done when they were in their teens, the drummer was like 12 or 13!

My vote went for European due to the majority of the bands i listen to are european but america also has some damn fine bands... Sarco***o, Black Witchery, Godless North, Judas Iscariot to name a few.

and dont take it out of your profile for that will make you look like a dumbass. |
As a New Zealander, I have no biases towards/against either. So,
European metal all the way, but American metal is good as well. |
