I used to be into Rammstein, but now I can only listen to them in small doses. They just seem like a boring, derivative, and dumbed-down version of Laibach and KMFDM.

Your taste is impeccable. Blind Guardian is indeed the greatest German band ever as I believe I posted months ago in this thread.

Kraftwerk
einstürzende neubauten Sopor Aeternus Rammstein (A suggestion for some. Research beyond this band. I run into this problem...alot.) Das Ich (Even though they're not metal in any way, STILL GERMAN!) Die Krupps Nena (Exemption for the pop artist, also still pretty for her age.) |

some of my favorite german bands would be: beatsteaks, ........, die ärzte, die Toten Hosen, Turbostaat, Sportfreunde Stiller, Fettes Brot, Ton Steine Scherben, Clueso, Casper, Marteria. Punk, Rap,Pop, Hip Hop in there... but this was about "favorite band" right? if it's between Rammstein and Oomph, I am sad to report that none of them would make my fav. list.
