Are you trying to say that by me liking them initially through their most "popular" songs is bad?

Of course not.

But sometimes a bands best material is their lesser known stuff.

^very true. A lot of times it's their popular tracks that draw you to them until you hear them over and over way too much (another brick in the wall pt.2, stairway to heaven) and eventually listen to their b-sides and lesser known stuff and take more of a liking to it. That's how it works for me anyways

i never said liking them for their more popular stuff is bad...I just said thats not how I got introduced to them. I probably heard lots of their lesser known material before I heard their really "big hits"

People always dimiss Pink Floyd as being a mellow band, but what some folks forget is that they can get loud and nasty when they have to...Examples.

Careful With That Axe Eugine
Take Up Thy Stethoscope and Walk
Intersteller Overdrive
Lucifer Sam
Saucerful Of Secrets
Corporal Clegg
The Nile Song
Ibiza Bar
One Of These Days
Sheep
In The Flesh
Young Lust

I never really got into Pink Floyd at first. I thought DsotM was the overratedest album ever... But I sort of grudgingly accepted it had a place in rock history. Then I bought the Wall and I immediately thought it was the greatest album I'd ever heard. Pink Floyd are the kinda band the album needs to click with you, otherwise they seem completely useless.
