I declareth this a power metal thread by the swords of something.

So yeah everyone post there top five power metal bands.

1. Iron Maiden
2. Dream Evil
3. Dragonforce
4. Iced Earth
5. ManOwar

hmmm interesting!! *strokes imaginary beard*!!! supprised no ones replied to this. but hey all the more for me!!

i'd have to go with your first choice of Iron Maiden, (btw are they really power metal tho?) prob say more melodic metal than anything.
and then maybe a few manOwar songs and a few Hammerfall songs but that would probably be it. the bands you listed aswell are really more battle metal than anything, power metal goes more towards glam over the top metal than Dragonforce say which they say is battle doom! what a cool name for all this music isnt it!!

meh i have a different view of like power metal to you misfitspunk, prob cus i dont listen to much of it. and cus i follow Metal Hammer magazine like micheal jackson does kids and that's what views they have in there!!
btw Misfitspunk what sorta music do you like cus you've been on some like emoish threads and then like lamb of god and KsE threads and say you hate them and then open a thread on power metal which kinda took me by suprise!!??

I like rock.
and dont listen to metal hammer as much as i like the used and lostprophets.
They aren't metal and are still included in that magazine.
Plus magazines suck.

ooh dont say that!! im fragile and may cry!! i love metal hammer and hopefully will still be reading it when im all old and wrinkly and hitting chavs with my walking stick when they attempt to mug me!!! soory i kinda get into a thought when i have one lol!! they dont come very often.
and i dont think the title 'metal hammer' is ment to suggest that its all about metal music cus they always have sections for emo, alternative/indie and even electro in every issue.
