On another note, I always thought Evanescence were a blander, somewhat mainstreamier take on what Lacuna Coil were doing. They both established their audiences around the same timeframe but the latter band had better songwriting (generally).
I don't give too much of a **** about a lot of Lacuna Coil, but Comalies is still a pretty sweet album, even if the cheesy alt metal riffs are lame. Definitely better than Evanescence at least.
