I never said Masayuki was popular in the slightest. I said he changed the guitar world. Even though his impact is undeniable, he is not iconic. Jeff Beck is similar in that aspect*.

*this does not mean that they have identical sales figures, cultures surrounding them, or other things. Only that they are impactful but not overwhelmingly popular**.

**this does not mean that Jeff Beck was never popular, just that he has become infinitely less popular and relevant in recent decades.

Well... At least we aren't arguing about Evanescence anymore....

Yet we are discussing the most popular/famous rock guitarists ever.

*sigh*

GG Alin changed the lead singer world. Guess he makes the top 10 of all time.

I very much disagree with that tbh but here's a neat edit you might enjoy.

I think that you might be conflating your personal taste with iconography (which is different than strictly being popular, btw).

I wonder what boring, readily available **** Chula would listen to, if he was born a few decades later. Probably some kind of bro crunk.

Evanescence.

Also, JB is crowdranked at #10 here: Greatest Guitarists Of All Time | Best Rock Guitar Players

I guess I underestimated him and you were right as far as popularity goes Chula. I define iconic a little bit differently though and still don't think he fits. My list of iconic guitarists (not favourite) would probably be only about 10-20 guitarists long and he wouldn't get a spot. To give you an idea of how picky I am about that, I wouldn't put McLaughlin on there either.

I remember Evanescence being too lame even for teenage Marilyn Manson loving me. Don't really remember what they sound like and not really wanting to find out.

Hey, I just dig the album. I'm not voting them for any awards or anything. A good song is just that. A good song. In my limited, stunted, retarded, clueless, and out of touch world. Sue me.

Just for kicks, try laying down some soloing to this and then get back to me.

Brilliant songwriting.

IN MY OPINION.

Wow that's actually an amazing base track to solo to!

EDIT: Oh I forgot to turn the sound on.
