coheed and cambria
alright well i was just wondering if there were any coheed and cambria fans here. Im not really sure on what genre to classify them in so i just put it here. They are an awesome band and their songs tell a sci-fi ish story. Some songs i'd recomend for those who are interested are godfathers lollipop, a favor house atlantic, blood red summer and 33. also, Does anyone have any recomendations for bands that are similar to them? im looking for some new stuff to listen to.

I have their "In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3" album, and yes its like a story book.
I can recommend you other music that follows the story theme. The Mars Volta's first full length album "De-Loused In The Comatorium" is a real-life story about the life & death of Julio Venegas, friend to the former lead singer of At The Drive In. The album made by his new band, (Flea from the Chili Peppers played bass for the abum, btw) tell his sad life, falling into a drug induced coma, and waking up from it only to kill himself. Its very progressive in its lyrical content. I'm listening to the cd right now actually . Co. & Ca. are very good but I feel they are poppifying Emo, Punk, and Metal all at the same time. And the vocals are a little to high pitched in some places. The title track from "In Keeping Secrets...:3" is an excellent one though.

^ yea i sometimes agree wiht the popifying thing ( still love them though) . A favor house atlantic may be an example of this. I saw the video for it about a week or 2 ago. i was dissapointed. its was baisically just the group hanging out with people in some bar. not related to the song, no snipers in sight. this was probably to gain popularity, i liked the devil in jersey one better.
