i'm shocked only one person mentioned Matt Cameron so far (and like 4 years ago). super talented and always stuck to a minimal kit. not unlike another personal favourite - Joey Castillo, his work with QOTSA has been top notch and i really like the power and drive he can produce from a simple setup.

and not a single person likes Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction) here? sad :( same goes for Chad Smith.

as for classic rock it's all about Mitch Mitchell for me, though to be honest (as per the slight derail from a while back) i never thought Noel Redding was 'that' good. plus he always came across as bitter and jealous of Hendrix in any interview i saw or read. Mitchell on the other hand, struck me like someone who just wanted to play his a$$ off and smile.

Haha :D I just noticed that I had put Bill Kelliher as a drummer. Ofcourse I know that Brann Dailor is the drummer. I must have been up late when I wrote that :D

Tim Yeung. That guy is pure skill. Chris Adler comes in second. I personally think Joey Jordison is a little overrated. Oh, I know! The drummer from AC/DC with his ever innovative *bass* *snare* *bass* *snare* in EVERY song.

New guy ragging on Acca Dacca that's original, Phil Rudd is a very good drummer vital to their sound, his behind the beat drumming was sorely missed when he left the band.

I'm not a huge fan of making lists of favourite musicians, as there are bound to be better musicians in whatever I haven't heard of yet but, mainly, it's not exactly something I spend a lot of time thinking about.

I'll just (perhaps predictably) give Pete Thomas of the Attractions a shout though. As I say, I'm sure there are plenty better than him out there, but the man's really knows how to pound out a great rhythm, and he's such a versatile player too.

Bonham - simple as!

My favorite is Keith Moon. Too bad he is not still around, I wish I could have seen him perform live.
