Iron Maiden have released solid albums fairly consistantly. A few misses here and there but nothing over the top bad. Iron Maiden also pretty much revolutionized metal.
Metallica had five important albums. Four that are good, and one to prove they're complete sell outs and don't care about the music. My vote goes to Iron Maiden. |

Iron Maiden do not have a bad album. Even their days with Blaze Bayley have been acceptable, although a bit mediocre.
Metallica put out some classic albums like Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning, but of late they unleashed a horror upon the Metal world known as 'St. Anger', so yeah, Maiden get my vote. Oh and as far as Power Metal is concerned, Helloween invented it, but since they in turn were influenced by Maiden, you can say that the latter were the innovators of the genre. And Power Metal is not all about Dragons, Dungeons and Demons. There are plenty of bands that stay clear of those topics, though, quite honestly, its cheesy topics like those that actually give a certain 'charm' to the genre, that makes it attractive. |
