I'm with adidasss on this...why on earth would a group of lads from Yorkshire deliberately set about forming a band and exaggerate their regional accent for the sole purpose of appealing to a small elitist group of people in a foreign country?!
I don't doubt your word that they are popular with that particular set, but to suggest it's the reason for their style is ridiculous.

This isn't the first time you've passed off your Don-esque (sly flaming) opinion as fact, at the expense of another member.
