Is it a good album? In my opinion, no. It's boring, average, and completely overhyped trash.

Is it a classic? Yes. Not because of whether or not the album is good or bad, but because of how big the band have gotten, how much the album sold, and the supposed "impact" it's making on British music (or is it making one? I might have them confused with Oasis, The Libertines, or any other similar band). It's garnered a reputation, and whether it merits the status or not, there's no doubt in my mind that it will be called a classic.

you what? the lyrics are what in my opinion makes the album special.

its possible that it will be classic becaseu of the singers voice.. the type of sound to the whole band.. it could be classic in time because of that.. cause really i haveb;t heard a band with that sound.. well not really.
you havent heard a band that focuses on northern accentuation? oasis, the futureheads and maximo park immediatly spring to mind.

they kind of actaully remind me of the british verison of Death From Above... is that strange??..
please elaborate...

well to me the Arctic Monkeys have there own sound the singer voice is very different very clear so clear you have no problem hearing his english accent. and even on the slowest song on there album its still dancable.. and catchy.

(on the death from above thing) sure.. i can't really.. i can try but it won't make much sense. they just remind me of them i don't know why.. they just do.. when i first heard them the first band to come to mind was Death From Above

ok ok. i think only english people truely appreciate the lyrics as they are in essence a social observation of english life. and i assume your not english?

to me his vocal style is no different to the likes of liam glallagher and the guy from futureheads, very humble yet powerful northen sound.

and im sorry but your death from above 1979 comparison leaves me behind.

ok i'm not saying there lyrics suck.. i still like them. i'm just saying i like more deep love emotional hit the spot.. make you think of hurt and just make you think.. i like songs i can relate to. but i do like there lyrics.. and i am aware of what england is like.. i've seen movie's (haha) and have english friends.. but have i ever seen and been to england and been apart of the actaully things that happen there... no.. i can only go by what i hear.. there lyrics are intersting there simple and seem to be about more so normal things.. other then love... but maybe i'm not reading as much into it as i shuold.. i don't know??

well to me Liam Glallagher has a rather more of a Rock sound to his voice, and to the style of that band... and you can't hear his accent as much as in some other british bands like coldplay and arctic monkeys. its just my personal opinion.. but i do like all of the bands i've just said and to me they all sound different.. and coldplay and oasis seem to have a closer sound then oasis and the arctic monkeys.. even tho i don't even think oasis and coldplay sound that much alike at all.. anyways you get my point i'm sure

well i'm sorry for how much shock i left in your brain becasue of how my ears took the sounds.. either way.. Death From Above 1979 i tihnk are Canadian.. and maybe its just that the lyrics aren't really about anything special(as in love.. breaking hearts... wanting to die.. blah blah blah), like the Arctic Monkeys songs.. and also very dancable.. but just my opinion. i still love both bands
