first BAD report of them live i've heard... maybe an off night? We Are Scientists could easily steal a show like that I think - they have charisma oozing out themselves... :)

i just read an article about them in my daily papers ( can't believe croatia is actually following trends ), the twat reporter actually called them punk....bahahaha.....and.....i just found out alex turner is 19...and honest to god that depressed me......he's fucking 19!!! a kid!!.......why?! WHY DEAR GOD HAVE YOU GIVEN ME NO TALENT WHATSOEVER!?!?......*contemplates suicide*

having watched several live shows of them on TV (yes TV, how poo), i can safely say id give my right bollock to see them.

pitchfork's review....not very much in favour of the album, the author was actually at a bit of a loss as to why they're so popular....

Sneer 01-26-2006 03:38 PM

i lost all respect for that reviewer when he described them as "the UKs emo."

He meant it in the "this whole thing is an annoying fad that teenagers are following" way, not the actual Emotional Hardcore way. And it's true, all those Libertines sound-alike bands are just as bad as the current "Emo" bands.

I would've given the album a lower score.

i happen to love it. and it sure as hell beats what the state of the music in this country was like pre-libs. and id hardly call it a craze, arctic monkey's aside who else is there? the rakes? babyshambles? give me a break. and dont start giving me bands like the paddingtons, the cribs, thee unstrung etc because they sure as hell arent like the libertines.

You must be fucking joking.

And there are so many other British bands a million times better than this NME hyped bullshit.
