Didn't I already say this sort of information didn't need to be posted?

persongp 03-21-2007 04:51 PM

although he wears more makeup than i do, i do like his music. i watched a dance team do an AMAZING modern dance to "ring around the rosy" it was really morbid but it was amazing.

655321 03-26-2007 09:24 AM

i have cousin in law that also believes in breeding liscense i also think it would be a good idea if you look at familys who have the most kids you notice thre usually dumb or catholics and sometimes both if you stop and thnk about it it becomes more apperant trend not just something out of a bs rant

edit- the music isnt very good but bryan warner is a genious and weems to be incrediably understanding indivudual

he is good for a lol
but otherwise no.

Voodoo Chile 03-26-2007 05:18 PM

I don't mind him. Not really my kind of thing, but he's undoubtedly talented and intelligent.

Kurt_Cobain 03-28-2007 04:26 PM

I wouldn't call him talented or anything, lets be honest Manson can't sing. But his lyrics are pretty honest, he does give a voice to allot of angry teens. He's great to piss your parents off with.

mr-bungle 03-29-2007 02:17 PM

I don't really like him that much.

StarstruckS10 04-12-2007 12:54 PM

I think that unless you have listened to all his albums and read his book, then you should just not comment on him. He is smarter than you think.

NIN is awesome..

Kurt_Cobain 04-12-2007 01:04 PM

Ok, thats like saying we can't post about any artist unless we know they're entire catalogue, and their life history. Don't be so childish.
We know his music and his image, which, most of the time is 99% of an artist.
And he is intelligent, but I only care about how clever his songs are, as for in general, don't give a toss.
And it's 'NIN are awesome' they're a group-plural.

mookey 04-13-2007 11:52 AM

Marolyn Manson undoubtedly has some controversial views and has a degree of talent as a lyricist/vocalist, although i cant help feeling once an artist releases a Greatest Hits album its a sign they are running out of ideas.

Voice_of_the_Soul12,13,01 04-23-2007 09:38 AM

His music is catchy at best. Far from being works of genius.

655321 04-28-2007 05:07 PM

no he is really a genius theres no disputing that his music is not so great but he is really a genius

bubbleboi 04-30-2007 08:24 PM

Manson rocks.
im hoping EMDM will take him to the top

Marilyn Manson is an intellectual who just tends to try too hard to shock and amaze his fans. Granted, that is part of his appeal - but that shouldn't really be the deciding factor on how people feel about his music. I think he probably could have garnered alot more respect as an artist if he went the Reznor way and kept his malevolence slightly in check. However, the persona has been crafted and it will never go away. And, despite being mildly abrasive to me at times (similar to Reznor), I still consider myself a fan and will purchase his new albumsoon after it's released.

Canis Da Beast 05-06-2007 04:44 AM

Mr Manson found his niche and made the most of his oppurtunity. There is no one alike to him on earth, he is original and unique, he is deserving of the title ''Legend''

655321 05-07-2007 05:49 PM

ive been thinking about this for a while and forgot wether it was true or not so i looked it up and i thought i should tell you all mailyn manson is not a person but a band(ooooo eeeeeeeeeee wooooooooow) we've all been refering to brian warner

.V. 05-07-2007 06:14 PM

lol ^ gasp.

PopIsDead 05-07-2007 06:43 PM

The thing about Marilyn Manson is that he uses all these gimmicks just to lure rebellious teenagers to listen to his music. It's really quite brilliant, actually.

(I don't know if my wording of all that expressed exactly what I wanted to express, but oh well.)

655321 05-07-2007 07:03 PM

he not they and yeah its kinda the same thing as a metal anti-flag in that sense

I'll agree, I think Marilyn Manson is destined to appeal to certain teenagers, who have a different outlook, but I don't know if that was necessarily his intention all along. Let's put it this way, he has a very strange personality to begin with that he wouldn't be able to fake, and if he did, he wouldn't be able to sell it as well.

655321 05-08-2007 05:18 PM

Indeed I think you are corrct. Manson, to me, is just an ok musician, and I feel I could like him more if not for the cheezy gimmicks. I accept gimmicks in bands when done to proper moderation....Eddie from Iron Maiden, the Anti-christ angle from Slayer, etc. etc., but then some artists wrap themselves in their gimmick so much that, no matter how good they may be, it just turns me off. KISS and the whole marketing thing they got going is another good example to add to the Manson example. And like KISS' marketing being brilliant, you again hit the nail on the head Manson is brilliant for his gimmick. He will never sell records as much as he did at the height of his career, but the gimmick ensures he will always attract certain angst filled individuals that will ensure at the very least he reaches cult status.

Generally, although Marilyn Manson has good music I totally disagree with his style...

whos_next 12-31-2007 11:34 AM

music can be interpreted in a lot of different ways and the artist shouldnt be held responisble for the way someone interprets their music.
however, marilyn manson is a terrible musician and his stuff sucks

I saw him on the tour for Antichrist Superstar. In the middle of the show, when he was upon stilts, his mic stopped working and he flipped out. He got off the stilts and started throwing them around the stage and smashing everything up. He then left the stage and a few minutes later the house lights came on and they announced that the show was over. What an immature jerk!

New Marilyn Mason video premire

Darkness_Incarnation 11-05-2009 09:48 AM

i think he is influential to an extent. he does promote individuality (which i am a strong believer in). however, i think he sometimes furthers the negative stereotype of "goths" (i don't even count him as a goth personally, but still...)
video? well, duh. how is **** on screen not influential???

he does promote individuality, but i find his fans are all pretty much the same..

Marilyn Manson is only a bad influence on kids if there parents hate them. He has a different perspective than most americans and it goes against the "morals" that were taught throughout the last 40 - 50 years. I find nothing wrong with what he has to say. Most people do though. I've lost interest in Manson though.

joelovesmusic 11-15-2009 03:39 PM

Marilyn Manson , I honestly don't like him. The only song i've listened to from him is the Sweet Dreams (Everybody's Looking For Something)

SaphiaGlam 11-17-2009 11:44 AM

Love him. His music may not be the BEST EVERR but he's awesome. I love the music. Not gonna lie.

I think he's really really sexy as well =P

I've never really listened to Marilyn Manson (just seen him pop up in the TV news every once in a while), but your brief review makes me think I better go hear/see what I'm missing, SaphiaGlam!

I must confess that it might be interesting in a horrifying but funny way to see someone flip out over a malfunctioning microphone and go on a smashing rampage using his stilts. From others' comments about Manson's music, it sounds like maybe his music needs the added lift of stilts to boost its appeal for many people? Even if they don't like the music, they can say, "Oh, well, at least he was on stilts."

Okay, I have now completed Phase 1 of my "Marilyn Manson Investigation" by watching David Letterman interview him in 2003. I must say that Marilyn seemed very sane, amusing, and charming! Sounds like he's happy doing his own thing. I'll have to actually listen to his music now, of course, before I give my final verdict.

I loved the shit out of Portrait of an American Family back in the day. I owned several copies because friends would borrow it and I couldn't do without it so I'd buy a new one. Great driving around and having a blast with your friends album, a fun roller coaster ride. It was just really fresh to me at the time. Maybe not as much now. One of the first shows I saw, couldn't have been more than 200 people in the small venue. Antichrist Superstar was pretty good but totally lost the raw edge of the first one. It's not nearly as nostalgic for me as the debut. After that I've only heard Mechanical Animals which was mostly meh.
