The first time I heard Trivium I thought I was listening to Metallica. They're a decent enough band but not really the sort of thing I listen to much. I much prefer Metallica.

Trivium are just awful, there is no two ways about it. They started out as a generic metalcore band, and when they realised that they were they tried to jump on the thrash revival bandwagon as a Metallica rip off (right down to the singer trying to copy Hetfield's vocal ffs). As soon as they realised that wasnt working for them they crawled back to the metalcore world, where thankfully I havent really heard anything from them since.

There was a brief period as they went through the Metallica rip off phase that I thought they were going to be looked at as the leaders of their generation in metal. Then Machine Head released The Blackening and all was right in the world.

Hahaha they`re not that bad, the Metallica rip off album "The Crusade" is a great likeness to Metallica and a good listen. The rest of their stuff though is errrrrr metalcore and definately not worth listening to.

I agree, they're an ok band in their own right but what little I heard of them was a total Metallica ripoff. The voice of the singer was eerily similar to Hetfield, at one point I actually thought it WAS Hetfield singing.
