3 way tie between pearl jam, radiohead, and ratm. each of these bands have solid music behind talented lyrics and a PASSION beyond anything else in their music. nirvana is close behind in my book because of cobain and his influence on the music industry in general.

I would have to suggest, as one of my favorite bands? 'LIVE'. Because of their all around personalities/musically. Talented band members, And one of the best at, a live concert/show. (electric, or acoustic). I am undecided between, Nirvana/Smashing Pumpkins.

they only realeased 3 albums in 90s. grant it the best album they have released was in the 90s it was at the very beggining and they followed it up with their argueably their worst album. then californication which was above average. so i dont know how they really owned the 90's.

I think the Chili Peppers did a lot for music in the 90s.

They convinced me to go find something a lot more interesting.

Nirvana didn't really do that much for music.
I mean,
They produced a lot of Nirvana clones.
Nothing really defining.
Awesome band, but they didn't do as much for rock music as bands from previous eras.
I still voted for Nirvana because they were the best band from the 90's on that list.
