Doesn't look like Pearl Jam are as popular, does it! Overall I'd pick Nirvana as my favourite, because I feel like the singing kind of lets The Chili Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins down (specifically the lyrics for RHCP and Corgan's voice for Pumpkins). I'm not saying that the singing is terrible for these bands, but its not really up to the same standard as the music.

Anthony Kiedis is a legend. Anybody read his biography? That's such a good book. I don't think the RHCP lyrics let them down, infact the lyrics kicked butt. I can't get enough of 'Under The Bridge', 'Otherside' or 'Californication'.

I stick by my opinion on Kiedis within the Chilli Peppers. Again, I'm not saying that he can't sing or write lyrics, but he's backed by what I'd say was the best contemporary rhythm section around, when he's definitely not the best singer or lyricist around. What I mean is that I wouldn't go out and buy an Anthony Kiedis solo acoustic album. |
