Default Opinion's on the new Children of Bodom EP - Are you dead yet?

With the recent release of the new Children of Bodom album, Are You Dead Yet? the release has been highly anticipated by all die hard fans, probably more so than that of any of their previous EP's. The band decided to experiment with different guitar tuning's in order to accomplish a new sound. Wheras before the band were using guitars tuned to D and drop C, they have taken it down a whole tone to C and drop B tuning. The album aroused some contraversy as to whether or not they could pull it off.

Being one of those die hard CoB fans, I myself was rather worried about how it was going to turn out, friends who had heard the album before me, had said that it was a more Slipknot sound from the rhythm section, but after listening to it myself I have to say I thought although the tunings make the songs sound very typical new dark metal, the overall sound is still sticking to the original CoB roots, catchy and powerful, full sounds from Laiho, and the rest of the band keeping the end up.
The pre - released Trashed, lost and strung out, was a perfect illustration of what was to come from this amazing band. And the album itself illustrates their ability to be able to do almost anything musically and get away with it.

So that's my opinion, anyone who wants to give some more input feel free...
