Im part of the minority in this one. I would deffinetly have to go with Jimmy Cliff. Marley may have spread the word of reggae, but without Jimmy Cliff 80% of reggae bands would lose an influence. Cliff was doing his own reggae type thing years before Marley came along. And not only did Cliff play reggae he also did a little ska on the side to further his imprtance. I think Marley did more to sell the rasta image than Cliff. Cliff was always about the music and stuff while marley seemed to be more worried about keeping rasta. It also really annoys me how much Marley neglected his ska roots. In whatever case, my vote goes to Jimmy Cliff.

Neither.
Either George Clinton or Pete Tosh from Bob Marley and the Whalers. If I could I would vote the Fugees and Soul'd Out on here.

i dont care for much funk. But Peter Tosh was very good as was Bunny Wailer. But the problem with them is they wernt nearly as progressive as Marley or Cliff. Too many average records to far apart for anyone to really stay that interested.
