What was your first album?
The first reggae album I picked up was Bob Marley's Rastaman Vibration. It's a great album, but maybe not his best. It got me hooked immediately and then I went on a Bob Marley album craze where I picked up almost all of his stuff. I think got introduced to some different reggae artists (Buju Banton, Anthony B, Sizzla, etc.) and started buying them too.

I don't know if Reel Big Fish count as real ska, but that was the first album I ever got that was close to ska.

God knows *attempts to recall through heavy grey curtains of what once was my memory..*
Probably my first ska tune would have been a single by the Beat or the Specials, and first reggae, dunno, I'd say Bob but it could've been some scratchy old vinyl import from a market. |
