New Zealand Dub Music
New Zealand is home to many exceptional dub bands. I just thought I'd share a few with you that worth checking out:

I adore Fat Freddy's Drop but I would not class them as dub personally as there are elemnts of Soul and Reggae in there. Salmonella Dub I have only just got into. The other names I am not familiar with but I will surely check them out.

Island mentality? I know that seems a generalisation but Reggae is big over here too and of course bled into Dubstep. Our love can obviously be traced back to the 50's and the influx of Carribean workers after WW2. Did anything similar happen over there at all?

What about Bognor beach in the summer!?! Seemed OK to me
Maybe that is it, a mixture of either relaxed or repressed. Maybe Marley being iconic as well. In Australia the indigenous population has seemingly hooked up to Country and taken a different direction. |
