Less Than Jake are pretty good, but they're more of a combination with punk and ska. However they're still pretty good. My brother saw em in concert about a week ago, said they were awesome

Talking

fpr more modern ska music:
- Babyhead for something more experimental
- Capdown for something a little more mixed genre but with ska roots

However..

- Less Than Jake (as Alo suggested)
- Reel Big Fish
- Me First And The Gimme Gimme Gimme's
- Catch 22

are all fun lighted stuff!

Ska nowadays seems to have more inspiration from other genres like punk, rap, hip op, drum and bass and things like that now..

well.. enjoy!

Hope that helped you along your way!

First Wave:

Prince Buster - Al Capone
Prince Buster - Madness
Desmond Dekker - The Isrealites
The Skatalites - Guns Of Navarone

Second Wave:

The Specials - Gangsters
The Specials - Too Much Too Young
The Specials - Ghost Town
The Beat - Mirror In The Bathroom
Madness - The Prince
Madness - Nightboat To Cairo
The Selecter - Three Minute Hero

Third Wave :

The Slackers - Married Girl
The Untouchables - Lebanon
The Untouchables - Stepping Stone
The Dead 60s - Ghostfaced Killer

Honestly, I think most modern ska is awful but those are a few ska tracks that are a good introduction.

A punk-ska band that I would reccomend would be Operation Ivy.
