Ska Bands

Guys i've got to say the guy's right. The thread is to name Ska Bands that you like and tbh loads of them have been repeated. The Specials have been mentioned 100 times and nobody's complaining.

Well honestly, if this is just going to be a thread where people jump in and make one word posts, then maybe the thread wasn't a good idea to begin with...

But if we all agree that it serves a better purpose for actual discussion of why people feel certain ways about certain bands, then I guess it should stay open.....

But there are loads of threads which do the exact same thing. Other than a couple of threads there is never any decent discussion it's all just people posting band names....

I think there's just a general tendency for people to become outraged at negative opinions. I wonder if we had said "Oh I love RBF!" if there would have been any flack.

But yea, regardless of the fact that there are many threads that certainly don't discourage one-word-posts, I don't think people should be held liable for legitimate music opinions that pertain to anything posted here, regardless of how many text characters are involved.

The day the community favors "name your favorite band in as little words as possible" over at least a little discussion is when this place goes to hell.

Exactly, i just saw it as a little hypocritical as it happens in so many threads. Other than Unpopular Musical Opinions are there any other threads that are based on purely discussion. Even band threads are filled with posts saying "I like this band" and not much else(i've done this myself a few times).

Yea it's kind of hard to keep up with. But there are scenarios where it's a good idea to address, and then other times where it's preferable to look past. We can't be entirely wooden across the board, because if we were, this place would be dead. It just takes a little judgment to discern between what should be allowed and what shouldn't.
