Default Damian "Jr Gong" Marley

Hey Y'all, this me first post on this lil site, so hi and all that.
I wanna ask y'all this question. do you reckon Damian Marley is only famous becase he is related to Bob Himself? Im really starting to like the dude, "Welcome To Jamrock" blew me away when i first heard it, but has he fallen into the trap of being famous, just because of his name? I hardly think this is fair, since he is clearly a brilliant musician.

Peace

Jam rock is a damn great song, i don't know about the album, but to be honest, no one knows about it, nevermind expecting things from him because he's related to bob. Ziggy probably deals with that more

"Welcome To Jamrock" thats all he has done thats good, he is nothing like his pops
and he hangs with racist blacks , which is funny cuz he is part white !

so yes it was easy for him to move along , with studio time and back up musicians and such things that we as normal folk dont have

Am I the only one who doesn't really consider Damien to be reggae?

I don't know, but to me reggae is stuff by people such as Peter Tosh, Lee Perry, Burning Spear, Bob Marley, Culture...and the list continues.

Damien Marley is absolutely NOT only famous because his father was Bob Marley. I mean, it may have helped get him recognition or help him when he was first starting out, but his talent is undeniable and when Im listenin to his songs I dont associate him with Bob Marley. his new album is great. when i first got it, i couldnt get enough of it
