Unknown Two-tone, song Please help
The following lyrics are to a two-tone Ska song with male vocalists that came out pre 1997, it is a fun upbeat song with trumpet, guitar and vocals (and a slide whistle). I have the tune on a…gasp - mix tape, but have no idea who sings it, the title, nor on which album it can be found. I originally thought Let’s Go Bowling or maybe even Toasters, but, on which album? I would eventually like to acquire the song on CD. Anyway, here are the lyrics, and thanks in advance.
Scootering Scootering, in the summertime and I’m Scootering with girls on my mind and I’m Scootering with of friend of mine today Hup hup hup Scootering, fun in the sun cuz I’m Scootering, playing Ska on my walkman, I’m Scootering, with a friend of mine today… Gonna drag my dusty old Vespa out of the garage Call up all my Scooter club friends and we’re gonna rally up north, stay the weekend…stay at some lodge Scootering, my friends and me, we’re just Scootering, gotta see what there is to see Scootering, in the summer sun today Scootering, yeah I haven’t a care cuz I’m Scootering, my best friend’s got no hair! Scootering, in the summer sun today Let’s go Hup Hup Hup Scootering in the summertime and I’m Scootering, Rude girls on my mind and I’m Scootering with a friend of mine today Scootering, were having fun in the sun cuz we’re Scootering, playing Ska on my walkman and I’m Scootering, in the summer sun today Riding all night (on by?) the sun’s going down and it’s time to stop for the night, my rude girl by my side we prepare for the mornings ride. Taking it all in I know where I’ve been and this boy’s not about to give in. So let me go! I’ve got to go while this road is calling me on. So Bye Bye… Hup Hup Hup Then the lyrics get a little fast for me to transcribe, but he mentions feelin’ Ire and visiting New York, Florida (Mickey Mouse), Mardi Gras fest with Zydeco music, being happy with his Rude girl by his side and listening to Ska on his Sony walkman then it wraps up. |
