Dark Man X

Jesus that's it? Lame.

Does sound like an AIM screen name, doesn't it? Thankfully he made great music.

I guess it comes from a drum machine then he decided it stands for Dark Man X

I had to look it up to see if he named himself after the comic character with the X to refer to Malcolm X like Professor X.

I like how the last letter of the acronym DMX doesn't refer to a word but just the letter X cause it sounds cool lol

Similar to how malcolm x changed his name and said it was cause he didn't want his slave name but my alternative theory is that he just knew "Malcolm Little" was never going to sound bad ass. You can't really intimidate white people properly with a last name like "Little." X sounds way more nefarious.

Anyway... RIP to both Xs. But especially DMX.

To survive is to find meaning in the suffering

Was surprised that one of my childhood influencer passed away. Not really listening to this kind of music anymore but its not bad to show some solidarity!
