Musically he kick started the bay area scene being one of the first rappers to mix hip hop and dance music which was why he had such a huge reach.

Lol. Hip hop has been integrated with dance since the 70s. In fact it was much more dance oriented earlier on and gravitated towards rapping prowess/lyricism notably in the mid to late 80s.

As for the bay area Too $hort deserves much more credit than Hammer.

Question for anyone:

Besides Kendrick Lamar, who’s pretty ****ing dull actually, what rapper worth a **** is born from Tupac’s legacy?

Yeah, but it wasn't really the same. It's like arguing Dre's production isn't new because people have always sampled soul and funk. But the way he did it was unique.

Same with Kanye West. Hip hop had always used soul samples but the way he did it had a specific sound that wasn't prominent prior but after he did it every body tried to emulate it.

Nobody is a direct descendant in the way Jay z descended from biggie

But his impact is far reaching nonetheless.

you said he was one of the first rappers to mix rap with dance. Which is what I responded to.

I don't know anybody as strongly affected by his legacy like Kendrick was, but I know Eminem was born from it.

Yeah, so I clarified what I meant.

I honestly don’t hear it. Plus, Eminem raps circles around him if that’s relevant.
