please, try to stay on topic. This is a forum to discuss music, no need for for such snide remarks.

Personally, I think Slug is too old to be the rap artist his audience wants him to be. He needs to join Doomtree if he wants to mature as an artist....

^What an infantile remark. My grandma with advanced alzheimer's could have put together a better sentence.

Besides, everyone knows he'd be better off with mod sun.

Janszoon 10-19-2011 08:58 PM

Are you guys brothers or something?

Is nobody gonna mention how terribly awful this is?

Sparky 10-19-2011 09:53 PM

He was like 16, his flow sounds pretty good. Iunno, sounds okay to me??

Can't defend the dancing as much...

Janszoon 10-19-2011 09:56 PM

Is that Wasburn as in Washburn, Wisconsin?

Phantom Limb 10-19-2011 09:57 PM

He def got mad bitches from that show though, and that's what it's all about.

Ah. I guess they're just fans of naming things "Washburn" in that part of the world.

Pretty good?
No, his flow sounds pretty bad. I like the flute sample in the beat but the rest makes me feel embarrassed for "the S one". I mean, granted he was a little bit older when he did it but, I think Vanilla Ice established himself as a cultural joke by doing this same shit with more finesse.
At right about the same time.

Eh. I give him props for having smoke machines and back up dancers in high school.

Engine 10-19-2011 10:18 PM

Gotta agree to disagree I guess.
If that is actually any good, I think it's lucky for Slug that he was too ugly to get a huge record deal.
Like Ice Baby, he would've probably taken the deal, become a laughing stock, and Atmosphere would never come to be.

Ice Ice baby! Stop collaborate and listen.

I grew up with Atmosphere so I think I have grown to like them not only for their music but for their contribution to my upbringing. They are a great duo with a good sound. Not the best hip hop group ever, but to me they have definitely earned what they have reaped success wise. They are really great for (as we have all noticed from previous postings) people who are open to rap but haven't yet got into it. They are a very accessible group with good lyrics, though I get tired of hearing about Lucy.

Listened to some of their Headshote:Se7en album this morning for the first time in over a year. Definitely my favourite album of theirs.

Goofle 11-18-2011 07:25 AM

They are great. Proper grown up Hip Hop.

ltoffee 11-26-2011 05:54 PM

Why is it 'God Is Ugly' sucks so much?
For the record, I enjoy everything else they've done.

jenny111 05-25-2012 08:03 PM

i just listened to couple of their songs and loved it.

Probably because, on almost all the tracks, the snare is so goddamn high in the mix that you can't help focusing on it. That's what drives me crazy about that album at least.

I found it to be really uninspiring too, most of the delivery was pretty monotonous, which surprised me from an Atmosphere record, as they're usually pretty wide in terms of an emotional scale.
I just found the album to be a bit of a slugfest to try and get through, far too much filler. 17 tracks is too long for this album.

Phantom Limb 06-02-2012 05:12 PM

Atmosphere is boring. /thread
