Reasonable doubt by far, one of the best Hip Hop albums of the 90's. His flow was good, and his beats were excellent as well, some really good sample choices it has to be said. djchameleon I strongly recommend this album, its in my mind far better than anything he released after.

I gave Reasonable Doubt a listen but I will re-listen to it and see why I didn't like it or anything didn't stand out. It wasn't remarkable imo when I heard it.

I remember listening to Jay-Z a few years back. He is very talented and well rounded. Not too sure if I would enjoy it as much currently considering it's not entirely the taste I go for.

I was thinking about it after re-reading your comment since this person decided to bump the thread but no I have not yet.

I will in the next few days if not tonight.

I finally gave it a re-listen and I have no clue why I hated this when I first listened to him.

Maybe I was younger and I just couldn't appreciate some of the smooth jazz type samples that were used. I really love this album now though.

I don't understand some Jay fans can claim this is their favorite and then turn around and say that they don't like Kingdom Come when they sound pretty similar imo. The only thing that's different of course is the lyrical content because he's much older but why would you want him to still rap about the same shit that he was rapping about when he was younger?

Reasonable Doubt is the better album. I would probably put The Blueprint that one step below, and the rest being pretty average.
