Kottonmouth Kings

Literally only one thread with three replies which was just a new album thread. Not my fav group by any stretch and I only like certain songs but The Green Album was still kinda lit. I figure they're at least deserving of a real thread. They can certainly be fun in a numbskull way.

I think you'd absolutely love The Green Album if you haven't heard it. I've checked out other KK albums and not felt much but that album is tons of fun.

the first white rapper i dated introduced me to kmk, back in like 2006?

listening to it now sounds like southern comfort and cherry coke.

The Batlord 08-10-2018 05:51 PM

Bruh why would you listen to white rappers? The dick couldn't have been that good.

bc when you're 16 and the dating pool consists of cowboys and you're trying to be all alternative a white rapper from out of town is a godsend

that said i have never been able to escape white rappers since, it's haunting.

The Batlord 08-10-2018 06:14 PM

I can't pretend that my love of ICP doesn't have anything to do with my association with a ****ty white rapper and some associated friends around the same time tbh (2008). But I wasn't ****ing any of them so I still declare superiority. Even if I was 22. ****.

OccultHawk 08-10-2018 06:24 PM

I put green on a playlist

I’ll let you know when I get to it

wwwp

Keep that white rapper dick out of your mouth

Ty

The Batlord 08-10-2018 06:26 PM

TBH the black rappers I've known have been equally as awful, but the terrible white rappers try harder and it's more painful.

Lucem Ferre 08-10-2018 10:10 PM

Don't like KMK.

The Batlord 08-11-2018 03:06 AM

You prefer your terrible rap to be about killing people rather than smoking weed?

ICP is infinitely better than KMK IMO.

When they do songs like this.

The Batlord 08-11-2018 06:38 PM

ICP + KMK = Tech N9ne curb stomped

Lucem Ferre 08-11-2018 06:40 PM

Tech N9ne's K.O.D. album destroys both.

The Batlord 08-11-2018 06:53 PM

Maybe one day you'll realize that Tech N9ne is just as cringey as any other brainless goon taking themselves too seriously and releasing corny hip hop for goofy white boys, except he's somehow even more lame.

Already have specifically because so many people I know suck his cock like he's the pinnacle of hip hop. But K.O.D. was still a masterpiece.

His cringe isn't nearly as consistent and his lameness comes from the fact that his fans typically won't acknowledge it and herald him as an untouchable genius. But he's still much better than most of the other goons especially at his best.

I think the only ones from that area I put over Tech is Twiztid.

The Batlord 08-11-2018 07:36 PM

He might have more whatever than ICP or Kottonmouth Kings or whoever but he squanders it by playing up his supposedly great flow as if anyone with taste cares about someone artlessly showing off, he squanders it with his dumbass but oddly pretentious production, and he squanders it with a boring persona that's different from any 2-dimensional rapper only in the specific way he self-aggrandizes. I mean ICP might say dumber **** but they manage to sound less like embarrassing grown men acting like teenage morons simply because they have more charisma to pull it off.

If anything he squanders it by rushing out half assed music rather than sitting down and putting any thought into his music. Thus we get 50 songs a year about him either bragging about drinking, sex, how fast he can rap or how different he is filled with corny punch lines and terrible word play. Nothing too innovative or creative in his music. His production is top notch usually, though. Unless you're one of those people that like simpler production or think that making operatic hip hop is a bit tasteless. I think Tech should take a break for a year then sit down and focus on an album that's only 14 songs so he can put out a true classic filled with great songs rather than 22 mediocre ones.

As for the comment on ICP, it's obvious you haven't kept up with them. I can provide a collage of cringe that proves that wrong.

The Batlord 08-11-2018 08:09 PM

I don't mess around with modern ICP but when they're good they beat the pants off of Tech. And yes, his production style is absolutely tasteless. I don't know why he thinks it's a good idea trying to sound operatic and street at the same time.

Lucem Ferre 08-11-2018 08:23 PM

Completely disagree.

The Batlord 08-11-2018 08:27 PM

Remind me, which one of us is the goofball white rapper?

You're the goofball, I'm the white rapper.

The Batlord 08-12-2018 10:37 AM

I still don't know how much I like the Kings' discography but The Green Album has been staying on play for about three days. The production is just so fun and hype and suits their style. Infectious track after infectious track and you never have to put too much thought into appreciating it while you're browsing memes. One of those albums to throw on when you don't know what to listen to. There's a chance I'm being turnt out to being an actual fan.

I swear I don't try to like so much trash, it just kinda happens and then I have fun spamming it.

Lucem Ferre 08-12-2018 08:25 PM

Maybe it's not trash if you like it?

There's trashiness about it more than other artists, but the good things make me not care. How's about that?

I knew a guy when I was 22-23 who had The Green Album who didn't like KMK except for that album and I heard it a couple times. That's my entire past experience with them.

KMK's first album and earlier **** was gloriously lofi and Saint Dog was the best thing they ever had going for them, so of course he left after the first album and they were never as good. High quality ****ty 90s grimy ****.
