I never really liked the Sonic games, but I do have a very nostalgic connection to the Sega Master System version of the first game in the series. The music from the first couple stages in that game is permanently burned into my brain. Pretty good stuff, actually, although I feel like Mickey's Castle of Illusions on the same console had even better music (nostalgia again - I'm not much of a fan of 8 and 16 bit console games).
