Czarface Meets Metal Face

Anyone diggin the new Czarface album with MF Doom? I found it yesterday and played it all day and i luv it. Specially these tracks

Hearing Doom again got me so pumped, him and Inspectah Deck are 2 of my favorite rappers ever.

I expected it to be half-assed and corny but it turned out to be half-assed and kind of dope so it exceeded my expectations.

Czarface has the same shtick Doom has so really all they had to do was not fck that up and innovate on that a bit which they did. I like they stayed loyal to that sound and I hope they collaborate again cause if they had more group chemistry they could make a better album than this one.

Yea, what kind of innovation were you expecting tho? Within their signature style it sounds familiar but also fresh to me.

It's not that I expected innovation, I just don't see it. What's innovative about this album? It sticks pretty firmly to the signature styles that they've established for a long time now. I don't think that it's a bad thing btw.

It's subtle innovations withing their musical style. Im talking mainly the beats and the vocal deliveries not their visual presentation. It's archiving a particular formula while trying to innovate on it so it doesn't get stale. You said yourself you had expectations for this album and it surpassed them, what was it about it that surpassed your expectation? Cause to me is like i said, familiarity with innovation.

I suppose there are some modern sounds on it that are innovative when put in a more trad DOOM context. It surpassed my expectations not because I expected a 4/10 and got a...6.5/10. It's got some groovy tracks and solid spittin.
