i haven't heard anything he's done post 2000s. i was arguing with Dre being the reason why Doggystyle was a good album. Snoop's persona and charisma is what made the album, the novelty wears off pretty quickly though the more music he put out and it didn't take long to realize he's actually just not a good rapper.
Doggystyle is a goddamn classic though and i will not tolerate any slander of it.

He’s still very likable but if go through his discography, he really does hang his hat on Doggystyle and frankly even more so on The Chronic, so yeah, I agree.

It's true though Q-Man.

That's thanks to Dre. I've heard most of his others and the singles he was putting out between 01-04ish were pretty good (mostly Neptunes/Pharrell productions). But his albums are poor. |

Wu Tang Clan comes to mind, especially if you consider solo members' outings - they had that classic first run of albums from 36 Chambers, Liquid Swords, "The Dirty Version", Iron Man, Cubanlinx, all of these great and iconic albums that were mostly followed up with some mediocrity. Their new album is very good though, and I haven't listened to the newer Raekwon album yet, but I heard it's solid.

I actually think over the long haul RZA is the most amazingly consistent hip hop artist. I wonder if the lack of quality corresponds with his absence.

What about Big Boi? He is up there but he has really let himself down doing tunes with that Electro Indie duo who I forgot the name of. |

Are you sure you don't mean GZA? RZA's been a part of a lot of great projects, including all of the ones I mentioned, plus Gravediggaz, but a lot of his solo work has at least in my opinion not been the greatest of the Wu Tang members. I think the new one is the only one that he didn't produce. GZA has been MIA for years, though, and he seems to have the lowest output. He's up there though, the dude's been an MC since the 70s when hip-hop was just a neighborhood trend.
