Hardcore Hip Hop is comparable to punk, Mumble Rap is comparable to Late 90s Pop Punk.

Except hard core hip hop tends to be complex. In terms of sonic structuring I see hard core hip hop closer to be bop and technical metal. Mumble Rap does have a pop punk bubblegum type thing going but its back to basics but better formula is philosophically aligned with first generation punk. When I say back to basics I mean before Rakim and KRS-ONE, when rap was mostly silly.
