i'm not really a fan of yachty, but he did own up to the whole cello/flute mistake. i mean if krs-one can rap about the wrong beastie boy being dead, then yachty should at least be given some leniency.
i think mumble rap is kind of loose as a descriptor. if it's only attributed to rappers with incoherent lyrics (because they're "mumbling")--and that's the only requisite i've known the genre to have, so correct me if i'm misguided about this--then it's confusing on how that incoherence is gauged. i'd guess young thug, lil uzi vert, lil yachty, and famous dex are shoe-ins, but i never really thought of the likes of denzel curry, travis scott, and kodak black incomprehensible enough to be frequent additions to mumble rap playlists as much as they are. are a chunk of drill rappers lumped into the genre by extension? tiller seems like a weird inclusion in that list, unless i'm missing something in his discography
