I'm so on the fence about it, I think it could go either way for me at this point.

On one hand, yeah you've got a poppier Kendrick. The melodies just aren't all that interesting and the beats are just soooo plain. If this doesn't grow on me I think it'll sink into the 6/10 region real quick.

On the other hand, you've got a poppier Kendrick. Eschewing his TPAB sound almost entirely, and doing a complete 180, it doesn't have to be a bad thing. I like that he's just trying to make some focused pop tracks, and at times they are pretty good. DNA, like most everyone else has said, is probably one of Kendrick's hardest tracks. If I stay appreciating this for what it is, and grow to love more of the tracks, it'll stay at the 8/10 rating I gave it initially.

This is, though, what you get for expecting so much out of a man who we probably should've guessed burnt out entirely after releasing THE best hip hop album of all time. If he never releases anything decent again, we've still got the first four albums.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

And I had to change that goddamn cover. Seriously delusional when the designer and K.dot thought that that was a good idea.

I'm using this now:

I guess Kendrick was involved with the release or something.

To Pimp a Butterfly. Just personally though. It's #6 of all albums for me.

Probably not for a long time. The other guy moved to Thailand.
