nice choice. Elzhi is better than Nas tbh
Illmatic is pretty good but god damn does it get boring fast. It's probably top 100 material but it really shouldn't serve as anything other than an intro into other hip-hop artists.

That **** is immense, and Nas just has this inflection that makes every line sound good. Without the tight, busy flow though he doesn't hold up when he's being lazy, like a lot of the rest of his career. He's definitely overrated, but Illmatic is still Nas at his potential and that's some fine ****. It's really the only essential Nas album though.

Nas has about four albums I'd say are good to very good.
Illmatic, Stillmatic, It Was Written & Life is Good. Not including the Damian Marley one or the compilation album. God's Son was decent as well actually, clutching at straws a bit after that though. |
