Lol plenty of rock singers have diss tracks, they just aren't as discussed or put in the spotlight as much as rap disses are

It's part of the culture as someone mentioned. Stems from original roots of hip hop which is 'battle rap'. That's all

Rap now is at the point where a lot of the younger guys will make songs specifically to have a moan about someone they don't like. The old-school battle was to test yourself against your peers. Saw a big rise of it in the 70's when the east coast scene started to boom

Cause it's a part of a street culture. Hip-hop originates from poor neighbourhoods, where lots of bands fights each other and when people got their own genre of music, they continued arguing in their songs. However many other musicians either pop or rock ones have conflicts among them.
