The evolving self and music
Every individual has an "evolving self" which is always changing depending on the interactions we make in our daily lives. Music is definitely part of the evolving self. Music changes our emotions depending on the song being listened to. If a sad song is playing, most likely the person listening will feel some sadness. The pointment is that interaction with music/artist shape "the self". Question: is music a type of interaction? Does this interaction shape beliefs and mentality towards certain things in ur life?

I believe music SHOULD be engaging, not so much an interaction. You cannot touch, move, or change the path that the audible waves will take. You merely experience it subjectively. Therefor, it should engage, or provoke emotion and thought. Not one or the other, but both simultaneously. THAT is what helps make good music. It doesn't need to be something that EVERYONE will enjoy. You can hop on the wagon and ride it if you like, but it will never feel as fulfilling as making something of your own, building your own character from the ground up. Indeed, this path, is far more complex to walk and you may snap your ankle traversing it from time to time, but it will heal, and you will learn along the way where not to step. I myself have decided this is the path to take. I'd rather provide quality music, apposed to a bunch of raps to the masses. I'd rather focus on bettering my craft as an artist, then gain popularity as a rapper.

I don't believe that musical nuances affect the "evolving self." In fact, I think the opposite is true: that whatever we are already feeling determines what kind of music we find ourselves engaging in, at any given time. Music, at least for me, serves more as an outlet than as a catalyst.

Music, at least for me, serves more as an omelette than as a cantaloupe.

Flip it; don't slice it.
